Q. What do I need in order to start taking Driving lessons?
A. Before you start taking driving lessons, you must have a current and valid provisional driving licence. Forms for a provisional licence may be obtained from the Post Office. As a requirement for undertaking driving lessons, you must be able to read a vehicle registration plate from 20.5 metres or 20 metres for the new-style plates. To hold a licence to drive you must also satisfy the statutory medical criteria, details of which may found on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing website. www.dvla.gov.uk

UK residents holding a full driving licence issued in another EU/EEA* member state may drive in the UK until their 70th birthday, or can exchange their licence for a British one at any time.
